The Smaaksalon – Discover our brasserie in the heart of Hasselt

In addition to our restaurant and hotel Vous Lé Vous in Wimmertingen, we also manage brasserie The Smaaksalon, located in the center of Hasselt. This charming spot is housed in one of the city’s most beautiful historic buildings, right next to the tourist office.

The Smaaksalon is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (kitchen closes at 4:30 PM), with Sunday and Monday as our closing days. Whether you’re taking a break from shopping in Hasselt or simply want to enjoy a delightful drink, we invite you to savor local specialties such as a glass of jenever, Limburg wine, regional beer, or our signature Maeskoffie – a unique Limburg coffee roasted in Hasselt.

Culinary delights with local products
We are proud to collaborate with Puur Limburg, bringing the finest products of the region straight to your table. From world-famous Limburg asparagus to fruit from Haspengouw, Maasland herb salt, and beers from the abbey of Herkenrode or Achel, our menu celebrates the flavors of Limburg.

At The Smaaksalon, you can enjoy dishes featuring tender beef from Borgloon, fresh watercress from Tongeren, and juicy fruit from Sint-Truiden. We also offer quick bites, salads, pastas, and sweet treats such as pancakes, Brussels waffles, and chocolate moelleux.

For parties and groups of 50 or more, we are happy to open our doors in the evening.
