De Smaakfabriek is a bistro, it is part of the restored Syrup Factory with the Fruit Experience Center and the tourist reception of Borgloon.

In our bistro we serve small simple dishes including some specialties based on local syrup. For a drink on our beautiful terrace you are welcome for a regional juice, Limburg beers or a wine from Borgloon. Borgloon has several winemakers, each with its specific flavors, some of which you will find with us.

Our restaurant will close on July 5th, 2026.


Until then, you can still come and enjoy our final dishes and arrangements.
After July 5th, 2026, you are still welcome to stay in our B&B, but the restaurant will no longer be open.

We hope to pamper you one last time.
Our plans for after July 2026 are gradually taking shape.
